So you’ve decided that you want an intruder alarm and that you would to be informed if it activates. So what are your options? There are several intruder monitoring solutions available but the most common are DigiAir, Digital Communicators, Dualcom and RedCare.

DigiAir
This method of monitoring is ideal if you don’t have a phone line or don’t want to pay for a separate dedicated phone line. It works via a WorldSim and upon activation dials the ARC using any available mobile phone network, this means it offers unrivalled coverage at a great price as there are no monthly phone bills to be paid as all call costs and telephone line rental costs are eliminated.

Digital Communicators
This method of monitoring is ideal if you want a simple monitoring system that works on a phone line only. Upon activation the Digital Communicator dials the ARC a signal and all key holders are informed. However, along with the existing monthly cost of the phone line the Digital Communicator can’t send the signal if the phone line in engaged and the line isn’t monitored for vandalism at all.

DualCom
This is a monitoring system that works on a phone line with a WorldSim backup. Upon activation the Digital Communicator signals to the ARC and all key holders are informed. There is an ongoing cost of the phone line but if the line is engaged or out of action the signal is sent through the WorldSim meaning there is always a response to the ARC. There are ongoing costs for the phone line with this method.

RedCare
RedCare offers a very secure and robust alarm monitoring solution. It uses a telephone line to the ARC but this line is continuously monitored for line faults and issues and any problems can be identified immediately. Unlike other methods of monitoring this monitors the telephone line itself so if the line were cut the ARC is informed showing a potential problem at the property. This is the most expensive option available but also gives the most robust monitoring option if this is what is required.
